How can you get super good in nba 2k10 my player mode?

I play nba 2k10 my player mode, but i hate that my overall is so low. Its cool that im starting the games, and didn't get cut, but i hate that i miss wide open and that my overall is like 57. Please give me tips or cheats for my overall problem. ALL FOR PS3 THO!

You have to go through multiple seasons and gain the points over a long time.
